There is nothing like waking up to the sound of song birds. Listen to a serenade of orioles, euphonias, saltators, and warblers, all to the tempo of the Ferruginous Pygmy-Owl.

Grab a cup of freshly brewed coffee and your binoculars and you’re ready to go. Our expert birding guide will take you on a leisurely walk of town, highlighting the historical buildings and locations on the route. Learn about the history of the Maya Mestizo people in orange walk and take a look back in time when life was as easy as a breeze blowing over the New River.

The usual feathery friends seen on the route vary according to the time of year, but you can expect a series of warblers and songbirds along the parks on the Guanacaste trees. As the walk progresses to the riverside, expect to see Northern Jacanas, Purple Gallinules, different species of herons and kingfishers as well as a couple raptors such as the Black-collared Hawk and Snail Kite.
